Welfare Inventory of Human Services:

Making Connections Community Resource Directory

For the past eighteen years, Fresno Metro Ministry has gathered, organized and updated this directory of non-profit and governmental agencies engaged in providing services and resources to the greater Fresno area.

This valuable and extensive resource provides over 350 listings of agency contacts and specific service information. The purpose of Making Connections is to assist individuals and families, connecting them to the supportive services they need. The Directory has enabled agencies to link services to need and collaborate among themselves to gain greater outreach to a wider base of our population.

Recipients include county and city offices, hospitals, social service organizations, churches, police, schools and colleges, economic development organizations, and city, county, and state elected officials and their staffs.

Approximately 4,500 copies are distributed annually. Directories are available for $10 each, if you require that the directory be shipped to you please add $4 postage. We gladly accept, Cash, Credit Cards, or Checks. To order your copy contact us at (559) 485-1416 or metro@fresnometmin.org.

Welfare Reform
Metro Ministry organized four major conferences and eight task groups in the early days of Welfare Reform. Metro does not currently have any activity specifically geared to welfare reform, but continues to be committed that all the people in our community should have the basic food, shelter, health care, and positive relationships they need. Many of its current programs overlap with welfare reform issues.
