<tagline>The San Joaquin Valley has the most polluted air in the country. The toxic air in the Valley endangers the health of its residents, retards the growth of its crops, and threatens the overall quality of life in the region. Fresno Metro Ministry, as a founding member of the Central Valley Air Quality Coalition, is working with Valley clean air advocates to create positive change for our environmental health. We will be very busy this fall pushing for innovative approaches to curbing pollution from new development and an influx of mega-dairies from Southern California, while getting ready for another legislative season in January.

If you can commit to two hours a week (delicious meals included), then we can provide the know how and training to turn you into an effective and empowered advocate for healthy air. Over fifty Fresno residents joined us this May on our Clean Air Action Days 2005 trips to Sacramento. We are building on that momentum to create some serious community capacity, to demand and
win clean air victories locally and in Sacramento.

With Fresno County having 16% childhood asthma (over twice the national average), and over 1,300 people dying prematurely each year in the San Joaquin Valley, it is time to make clean air a pripority for you and your family. We will begin this program the week of October 17th. Email or call us to find out more and get signed up as an Air Quality Champion.

Best Regards,
Carolina, Daniela, and Mark

Air Quality & Environmental Health Program
Fresno Metro Ministry
1055 N Van Ness Ave, Suite H
Fresno, CA 93728
http://fresnometmin.org/airquality
(559) 485-1416
