8:10 a.m. An Augmented and Reliable Plan to Clean Our Air Faster - Brent Newell, Center For Race Poverty, and the Environment. Presentation, Questions, and Discussion

Brent will present a plan that augments and accelerates the San Joaquin Valley District's Plan. The augmented plan will get us 95% to clean air by 2013, and 100% by 2017. The District's plan will make us wait until 2023. The foundation for the augmented plan includes incentives for equipment retrofitting, new technology, and later, occasional restrictions for those who have not taken advantage of the available retrofitting and new technology. The Air District will hold a public hearing on their plan that delays achieving the goal until 2023.

9:10 a.m. Updates on Dairy Ordinance, Children's Health Initiative, and handout on Critical Care Move from U.M.C. campus to Regional Medical Center Campus.

7:55 a.m. Expansion of 5150 involuntary mental health hospital admissions to all hospitals. Fresno County Behavioral Health Staff: Dr. Lawrence Levy, Irene Takahashi, Jose Gutierrez. Previously University Medical Centers was the designated location. County Behavioral Health staff has been working with the Hospital Council in developing this new arrangement. What does this new policy mean for area hospitals and for patients? The staff members will also be available to respond questions related to County mental health.

A "what we are moving to" promotional video will be shown, plus comments by Jack Chubb as to the complexities in moving these vital services while maintaining those services.

Latino Issues Forum and Clean Water Fund will sponsor
Sustaining Our Future:
Advancing Water Policy for a Healthy San Joaquin Valley.

This groundbreaking event will bring together non-profit organizations, local elected officials, and community members from around the San Joaquin Valley to share information and develop new advocacy strategies to address the water challenges facing the region.

The event will include presentations from water experts representing local and state level government agencies, non-profit organizations and businesses.

Roundtables will discuss:

groundwater

infrastructure

land use and planning

consumer protections

This free Sustaining Our Future event will take place at the Holiday Inn Fresno Airport from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will include a continental breakfast and full lunch.
