Our Mission
Fresno Metro Ministry is a faith-based organization that works to create a more respectful, compassionate and inclusive community that promotes social and economic justice.Our Work
As a multi-faith, multicultural 501(c)(3) organization, Metro promotes social, economic, and environmental justice to create a more respectful, compassionate, and inclusive community. Metro advocates for change in community and institutional systems through collaboratives involving individuals, organizations, elected officials, and religious institutions.Currently Metro manages four programs Environmental Health, Hunger / Nutrition, the Central California Regional Obesity Prevention Program (CCROPP), and Health Care Access.
Fresno Metro Ministry addresses community issues that affect low- and middle-income communities and populations who are unserved, underserved, or whose voices are not heard. In addressing community issues, Metros goals are to improve service delivery, improve public policy, and to build relationships across the community.
Through collaboratives, Metro engages in community education, advocacy, and community problem-solving by building coalitions, networking, conducting workshops and conferences, and developing and supporting task forces.
Our Funding
Fresno Metro Ministry is funded by grants from local foundations and businesses, private statewide foundations, the City of Fresno, and state and federal governmental agencies. Metro also relies upon contributions from individuals, congregations, private businesses and corporations, and organizations and institutions.Metro also conducts two special fundraising events each year, the Festival of Choirs and the Anniversary and Awards Dinner.
